Why I Write
Why I Write
I write because stories shape how children see the world and how they see themselves in it.
My journey as an author began with my greatest inspiration—my son, Maison. Watching his imagination grow reminded me how powerful storytelling can be. Children experience the world through curiosity, adventure, and creativity, and books help nurture those qualities.
As a mother, I wanted to create stories that spark imagination, encourage kindness, and help children believe that their ideas and voices matter. Through storytelling, I hope to give young readers characters they can laugh with, learn from, and grow alongside.
My work as a police officer and my studies in sociology have also shaped how I view the world. I see every day how important community, empathy, and understanding are. Writing allows me to contribute to that in a different way—by creating stories that bring joy, comfort, and inspiration to children and families.
I write to inspire curiosity.
I write to encourage imagination.
Most importantly, I write so that children can see the magic in everyday moments and know that their stories matter too.
