Leadership Beyond the Campaign
I’m Christina Freeman — a lifelong Jersey City resident, police officer, honors student, and single mother raising my child in the community that raised me.
My decision to run for Mayor of Jersey City was rooted in a simple truth: our city deserves leadership that listens, shows up, and stays connected to real lives — not just headlines. What began as a campaign became a collective movement of everyday people stepping forward to shape a city that is safe, equitable, and inclusive for all.
Today, Freeman2025.vote is no longer about an election — it’s about continuing the work we started together.
Here you will find:
My story — why I stepped forward and what I’ve learned
The issues that matter — housing, safety, community support, equity, and opportunity
Reflections from the field — where policy meets lived experience
Ways to stay involved — partner in community efforts, support local initiatives, or invite me to speak
Leadership isn’t defined by a title.
It’s defined by consistency, accountability, and service long after the signs come down.
Thank you for believing that Jersey City can be better — not through slogans, but through sustained action and community partnership.
Explore the work. Read the reflections. Stay connected.
Christina Freeman Public Leadership
The Journey to Leadership
Christina Freeman brings a lifetime of service, faith, and community leadership to her work in Jersey City. Born and raised in the Greenville section of the city on Dwight Street, she is deeply grounded in the values instilled through her family, her community, and her faith at Church Universal Full Gospel.
From an early age, Christina was shaped by mentorship and structure through the Police Athletic League (P.A.L.), an experience that sparked a lifelong commitment to service and community responsibility. That foundation continues to guide her work today.
Christina serves on the front lines as a police officer, where she has developed a deep understanding of public safety, accountability, and the importance of trust between institutions and the communities they serve. Beyond her professional role, she has consistently given back through volunteer work with United Rescue and the B.L.E.S.C. organization, as well as through ongoing community engagement and advocacy. She is also an alumna of Rising Tide Capital, further strengthening her commitment to economic empowerment and community development.
While pursuing her degree in sociology at New Jersey City University, Christina has focused her academic work on systemic challenges facing urban communities, including housing insecurity, inequality, and youth disconnection. These issues are not abstract to her — they are realities she understands personally as a public servant and single mother raising her child in the same neighborhood that raised her.
Christina is not defined by titles or political ambition. She is a servant-leader shaped by lived experience, guided by faith, and committed to transparency, compassion, and common-sense solutions. Her leadership is rooted in showing up consistently, listening closely, and working alongside residents to strengthen the city they call home.
Leadership, for Christina, is not about position —
it is about responsibility, service, and staying committed long after the moment passes.
